Welcome to the Reading Deaf Children's Society website

The aim of this website is to provide an introduction to Reading Deaf Children's Society. It is limited by our level of IT expertise however we hope that this won't put you off.

  The founder members came from Reading, now we come from all over Berkshire, South Oxfordshire and North Hampshire

Our members exhibit the full range of hearing loss and wear hearing aids, cochlear implants or nothing at all. Some children have additional needs further to their hearing loss.

Our families are both deaf and hearing so a total communication approach is used. The committee members are studying hard for their BSL exams several are at Level 2 and above. Interpreters can be provided if required.

We offer a range of  indoor and outdoor activities  such as circus skills, go-karting and day trips.  We ensure that there is  something appropriate for all age groups and abilities . All our committee and playworkers are CRB checked and our playscheme is approved by OFSTED.

  All the family are encouraged to join in but older children can come unaccompanied to some events.
